Hess Speaks on Successes with Innovapptive’s mInventory solution

Hess Corporation is a major leading global independent energy company with focus on exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas, shale oil and gas, and deep-water development and production in the United States, offshore Guyana, Malaysia, and the Gulf of Mexico. They are creating a lean manufacturing culture and have been working with Innovapptive for over two years to implement its SAP® Certified mInventory solution and improve overall operational efficiency and productivity in two of their largest warehouses.

Innovapptive Inc., a leading provider of the next generation Connected Workforce Platform, was selected by Hess to implement the mInventory – Mobile Inventory Management solution to improve productivity, accuracy, and create a better user experience.

Prior to partnering with Innovapptive, Hess relied heavily on manual entry of material information for the main inputs of the Materials Management Process which created inaccuracies, user frustrations, and delays in record movement. Adding to this, with a reduction in workforce, Hess’s technicians were experiencing high user burnout from less availability of resources while more work was required. This rise in demands created lack of visibility and excess time spent focused on and fighting unnecessary issues.

Hess' selection of Innovapptive as the solution provider was based around 5 key factors:

  • Innovapptive offered relevant industry knowledge and experiences specific to Oil & Gas
  • Key team members and stakeholders based were based in Houston
  • The mInventory solution offered the best look as well as less need for and/or easier training; all are key for better user adoption
  • Availability of Innovapptive's Remote Logistics Management (RLM) module
  • mInventory’s Super User configuration capabilities allowed Hess Central to manage minor changes (add fields to a screen, etc)

Innovapptive's mInventory
enabled Hess’s team to see improvements in 2 key areas:

  1. Productivity
    • 75% Reduction in Process Time of Goods Receipts
    • 25% Reduction in Process Time of Cycle Counts
    • Zero Paper – Eliminated u se of paper for processes
  2. Operational Efficiency
    • Same day Goods Receipts increased from 75% to 95%
    • Eliminated data entry and reallocated time to performance of value-add functions
    • Quicker and easier identification of offshore materials for offshore personnel with new printed labels

“We are excited to be able to partner with Hess and even more thrilled at their successful deployment in two of their largest warehouses,” said Sri Karthik, SVP, Business Development and Value Engineering for Innovapptive. “Our unique focus, niche and commitment in the oil and gas market, as well as with SAP mobile and user experience solutions, differentiates us from other service providers to offer world-class expertise and customer delivery for SAP mobile solutions across all device types.”

Innovapptive’s mInventory is an SAP Certified solution for Inventory Warehouse Management that enables users to perform common inventory transactions through handheld devices, smartphones, and RF scanners. The users perform the transactions at the point of use on their wireless device which results in real-time transaction processing, improved data accuracy, increased mobility, and convenience.

Hess recently gave a project update at SAP-Centric EAM/SCM 2019. After their Breakout Session, two leads for the project stopped by Innovapptive’s booth for a Q & A session with Innovapptive's Director of Product Management, Brant Jones. Watch the video here: https://bit.ly/2V6mUax
